Summary

Questions to consider and activities to support ACPF application.

Abstract

Intro: This presentation will highlight the supports, processes, and tools used to complete the RNAO Advanced Clinical Practice Fellowship (ACPF) application.

Method: The presentation will use qualitative and descriptive methodology to show how the RNAO’s Social Movement to Action Framework and the Best Practice Guideline - Integrating Tobacco Interventions into Daily Practice was used to create the ACPF application.

Result: Even as a nurse with 25+ years of experience, the author found that this process increase agency, capacity and confidence to develop clinical knowledge and skills, enhanced leadership abilities, and lead change. This process reignited the author’s passion as a lifelong learner without long term commitment to another degree or certificate.

Conclusion: The presentation is to encourage other nurses to pursue an RNAO fellowship by providing tangible examples they can use to facilitate their own application.  By providing tools to define the scope and scale of this learning opportunity, it is expected that more nurses will apply as part of lifelong learning and commitment to improve client outcomes.
