Summary

Pain is listed as the fifth vital sign, which widely affects the quality of life of patients. It interacts with sleep disorders and anxiety disorders, forming a vicious and increasing the risk of postoperative complications. TCM appropriate technology is simple and effective. In this study, under the guidance of the best guidelines, the advantages of TCM Western medicine are combined to provide individualized services for patients, and the curative effect is excellent. It is significant to manage pain with a new combination of three-way therapy in practice.

Abstract

Pain is listed as the fifth major vital sign by the World Health Organisation, which widely affects the quality of life of patients.The amount, including many aspects such as mood, sleep and cognitive function, interacts with sleep disorders and anxiety disorders, forming a vicious circle, which will increase the risk of postoperative complications. Traditional Chinese medicine appropriate technology refers to adopting simple, easy-to-use, safe, effective and economical comprehensive diagnosis and treatment methods under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine theory, combining traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine, and providing individualised, systematic and comprehensive services for patients. Studies have shown that the appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine has a good therapeutic effect on orthopaedic diseases. Under the guidance of the guidelines for pain best practises, our department has carried out localised applications, formulated standardised processes, and actively used methods suitable for technological innovation combinations of traditional Chinese medicine to manage pain, including ear acupoint pill press, cupping technology, traditional Chinese medicine ointment and other triple therapies to manage pain with remarkable clinical effects. This article aims to explore the applicability of traditional Chinese medicine appropriate techniques for pain care in orthopaedic patients, and put forward feasibility suggestions for its future development.
