HRH has significantly expanded its Best Practice Champion (BPC) Network, onboarding over 776 BPCs by October 2024. This growth reflects a heightened awareness and recognition of the role champions play in implementing and sustaining Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs) throughout the organization. BPCs have been essential in promoting evidence-based care, and Humber River Health is committed to standardizing practices, improving patient outcomes, and fostering collaboration among interprofessional teams through ongoing BPG implementation initiatives.
Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSOs) are selected by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) to implement and evaluate Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs). Best Practice Champions (BPCs) play a vital role in promoting BPG adoption and sustainability in both clinical and academic settings. Humber River Health (HRH) began its BPSO journey in 2018, achieving. Designated BPSO status in 2021. Since then, HRH has successfully implemented ten BPGs and focused on expanding its BPC network while enhancing its capacity through targeted initiatives. These efforts aim to support the professional growth of the interprofessional team and advance the integration of evidence-based practices throughout the organization.
